Mrs. Lela Odessa Russell Conley
Mrs. Conley was a modern-day Proverbs 31:10-31 wife and child of God. She was the wife of the late Dr. Rev. Herman Conley. With a great spirit of obedience, God entrusted her with many gifts and talents.
Mrs. Conley, as a pastor’s wife, had the opportunity to minister to many women as a true Titus 2 example of the older women teaching the younger. She taught women to sew, how to become better wives, mothers and, most of all, better Christians. She attended Carver Bible College in its earlier days during its founders tenure, Dr. Talmadge Payne. This is where I was able to meet her in 1972 as she interacted with the students on campus.
My life will never be the same as the result of the many skills, talents and, created abilities that were awakened from within. Mrs. Conley became my mentor, spiritual adviser, prayer partner and, most of all, my buddy in spiritual adventures. I thank God for taking good care of my sister and friend. Until we meet again. AES.
